Sketches Updates: Conference to Yesterday (26/9/13)

Hello bloggers!

So I've scanned in images from the good ol' journal!

Some of them are from my time away up at Walker Flatt, which was absolutely beautiful.

Some are also from yesterday's sketching session on the bus. I managed to use pen, no surprise, but in a different stroke form. 

The images are, of course, rather rough, and without reference (well, the pencil ones are without).

I had some fun, and will work up those in green pencil, as one is a commission, and one is just awesome.

Kitten Mittens

So I have these really cool gloves that I bought the other day, well start of the year, and I found them again!

Naturally it sparked this cute little image, and I really love how it turned out!

Pen Sketches: Thursday 26/9/13

Hello Bloggers!

So I've just sat and had a play around with my trusty pen, nothing finished.

I really love just sketching and doodling in pen, such a fun little getaway.

This time I looked at basic structure of form, before adding in the simple linework/ play.

I hope to, of course, always do this with my work, it just depends on time and energy.

I used picture referencing for the images towards the end, as I think I'll try and just revamp my proportional knowledge whilst I do have time. I still struggle drawing more than one person at a time, so perhaps that will be my next challenge to accomplish (yay!).

Pen Sketches: Wednesday 25/9/13

Hellowdy (mixing it up!)!

Started with a doodle, ended with a figure! 

I loved seeing where my brain took this one, it was a great little trip.

The essence I had for this one, or the feeling, was that of a bride, wearing her dress for the first time.

Or perhaps just simply getting caught up in the gown.

It was a lovely little moment in my head, having witnessed two friends married this year.

Green Love

Hello fellow blog dwellers!

Yes, it has been a while, I've been away on camp (which was amazing!).

SO I drew a happy little picture, somewhat inspired by how camp was, but more because I wanted hills in the background. I love the play around on the colours but I'm hoping to explore my approach to colour in Photoshop soon. I came across a wonderful little book which had a few tips....so I think I will apply that to the next images I get the time to do.

Alas onward to the next thing!
